Framer

Framer is worth it if you want a website with agency-level design polish, generated from a text description, without writing code or settling for a generic template slapped together in a hurry. It isn’t a video or audio tool: it’s a website builder where AI generates sections, layouts and even entire sites, and you keep adjusting everything visually afterward.

What sets it apart from more rigid generators is exactly that: what the AI builds stays fully editable afterward, section by section, without relying on code. Compared to a Wix-style editor, the result has a more polished design level right out of the gate, but the editor’s learning curve is a bit steeper if you’ve never used a visual design tool before.

In practice

This translates into very concrete uses: someone building a landing page for a product or service that needs to look professional without hiring an agency, a freelancer who builds sites for clients and wants to start from an AI-generated layout instead of from scratch, or a small business that wants to replace a site built from generic templates with something with more visual personality. It’s also useful for iterating fast: asking the AI for a different variant of a section and comparing which one works better before publishing.

Plans and pricing (2026)

• Free — lets you design and try the full editor on a Framer subdomain, with a limited number of CMS collections, capped bandwidth and up to three collaborators; doesn’t allow connecting a custom domain.
• Basic (from USD 10/mo on annual billing, USD 15/mo monthly) — adds a custom domain, more bandwidth, built-in SEO and several editor seats.
• Pro (from USD 30/mo annual, USD 45/mo monthly) — more CMS collections, more bandwidth and pages, staging and branching environments, with the option to expand each limit for an extra fee.
• Scale (USD 100/mo, annual billing only) — built for high-traffic sites and large teams, with the highest bandwidth and page limits.
• Enterprise — custom pricing, with limits sized to the organization.

Every plan also comes with a monthly allowance of “credits” consumed when using the AI generation features; higher plans include more credits per month. Additional editor seats and expansions to pages, collections or bandwidth on the Pro plan are billed separately.

What to know before choosing

The most real limitation is that the free plan, while good for trying the whole editor, won’t let you connect a custom domain — to publish a site under your own name you need to move to a paid plan no matter what. Also, while the AI-generated result is good quality, continuing to edit it visually requires understanding Framer’s editor logic, which isn’t as straightforward as a Wix or Squarespace for someone with zero design background.

Worth it for anyone looking for a polished-looking site without hiring custom design work, who doesn’t mind spending a bit of time learning the editor. If what you need is just filling out a form and having a site running in minutes without touching anything else, a simpler builder may fit better.
