SEO and AI Visibility 4.0/5 — our rating

Writesonic

Platform that monitors and improves your brand's visibility in ChatGPT, Gemini and other AI search engines (GEO), with a built-in AI article writer.

Writesonic is worth it if your marketing or SEO team needs to know whether ChatGPT, Gemini or Perplexity are recommending your brand or a competitor, and wants to act on that — not if you’re just looking for a cheap tool to generate blog articles. It started out as a content generator focused on traditional SEO, but it has fully repositioned itself as an AI search visibility platform (what the industry calls GEO, Generative Engine Optimization): it tracks how often, and in what context, your brand shows up in the answers of major AI assistants.

The difference from a generic text generator is that Writesonic doesn’t stop at measuring: its Action Center prioritizes what to fix first based on expected impact (a missing FAQ block, a page that isn’t cited where it should be, a technical issue blocking AI crawlers), then offers agents that draft or adjust that content to improve the odds of getting cited. The AI article writer that used to be the core product still exists, but it’s now just one piece of that broader suite.

In practice

This translates into a workflow quite different from “write me an article about X”: a marketing team connects its domain, Writesonic tracks dozens of queries typical of its industry across several AI platforms and shows what share of those answers mention the brand versus competitors, flags which pages need a comparison table or an FAQ block to have a better chance of being cited, and puts together a content output (PR, mentions on forums like Reddit, optimized articles) to improve that visibility over time. The article writer still handles the first draft of traditional blog content.

Plans and pricing (2026)

  • Starter (USD 79/mo, or USD 948/year) — brand monitoring across ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, 50 prompts tracked daily, 15 AI articles per month, 10 site audits and 1 user/project.
  • Basic (USD 199/mo, or USD 2,388/year) — expands to 100 prompts and 300 answers tracked daily, 25 AI articles per month, 20 site audits and up to 2 users/1 project.
  • Growth (USD 399/mo, or USD 4,788/year) — the most popular tier: 200 prompts and 600 answers tracked across three AI platforms, sentiment analysis, 50 AI articles per month and up to 3 users/2 projects.
  • Enterprise (custom pricing) — coverage of all 10 AI platforms it tracks, full agentic workflows, a dedicated strategy team and enhanced security (SOC 2, SSO/SAML).

All plans include a free trial with no credit card required, enough to see the initial visibility report before deciding whether it’s worth paying for.

For this review we looked at the brand-monitoring setup flow, how the Action Center prioritizes actions, and the AI article writer as a standalone feature, comparing the approach against traditional SEO tools that don’t track AI platforms.

What to know before choosing

The most real limitation is the jump in both price and purpose: if all you want is to write blog articles optimized for Google cheaply, Writesonic is no longer the cheapest or simplest option for that — plans start at USD 79/month and are built for teams that need to measure and act on their AI presence, not just write text. This “AI visibility” category is also fairly new, so there’s still no fully standardized way to measure it across providers.

Worth it for marketing or SEO teams already wondering whether their brand shows up when someone asks ChatGPT about their industry, and who want concrete data instead of a hunch. If you just need a blog article writer without the AI-monitoring piece, simpler, cheaper generators will cover that specific need better.

Pros

  • Monitors brand presence across 10+ AI platforms (ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews)
  • The Action Center prioritizes what to fix first based on expected impact, not just detecting issues
  • Still includes an AI article writer and technical site audits

Cons

  • No longer a cheap, writing-only tool: plans now start at USD 79/mo
  • The article writer, once the core product, is now just one feature inside a broader SEO suite
