AI Writing 3.9/5 — our rating

Jasper

The most widely used AI assistant among marketing teams for generating copy, articles and full campaigns while keeping brand tone.

Jasper is worth it if you’re part of a marketing team producing content at volume that needs to keep a consistent brand tone across campaigns, not if you’re after a generic writing assistant for occasional use. It’s one of the most established AI writing tools on the market, with a specific focus on teams that need to generate content at scale without losing brand consistency along the way.

Unlike a generic AI chat, Jasper lets you define several “brand voices” that get applied to everything it generates: emails, blog posts, ad copy, product descriptions. It also adds agents built for specific marketing tasks — from research to optimizing content so AI-powered search engines surface it better — not just generating standalone text. This makes it especially useful for agencies and teams managing several accounts or product lines at once, something a generic assistant isn’t built to handle in an organized way.

In practice

This shows up in tasks like generating a full batch of ad copy variations that all keep the same tone, drafting a long blog post from a brief that automatically follows the brand guide already configured, producing parallel versions of the same announcement adapted to different channels (email, social, website), or using an agent to research a topic before writing the final content, all inside the same platform instead of jumping between separate tools.

Plans and pricing (2026)

  • Free trial (7 days) — full platform access to evaluate before paying; there’s no permanent free plan.
  • Pro (USD 69/mo, or USD 59/mo billed annually) — one seat included (more can be added), full access to Canvas for content creation, agents for the most common marketing workflows, 2 brand voices, 5 knowledge assets, 3 configurable audiences, image generation and editing, support for 30+ languages, a browser extension and integrations, and personal usage analytics.
  • Business (custom pricing, with a 12-month minimum commitment) — everything in Pro, plus unlimited seats, advanced agents for more complex tasks (AI-search optimization, translations, research), a no-code custom agent builder, Jasper Grid for executing content at larger scale, unlimited knowledge-base customization, API and MCP access, enterprise governance controls (admin, groups, SSO), and dedicated account management.

The final Business plan cost depends on the number of users, usage volume and the level of support needed, so it’s worth getting a direct quote if your team is more than a handful of people.

For this review we tested setting up a brand voice, generating different content formats from the same brief, and using an agent for a research task ahead of writing, on the Pro plan. We also checked how well the configured tone held up moving from a short format (a social post) to a long one (a full blog article).

What to know before choosing

The most real limitation is the price: compared to a generic writing assistant, or even ChatGPT or Claude used directly, Jasper is noticeably more expensive, and that gap only pays off if you’re actually going to use the brand and team features. The output also depends heavily on how well the brand guide is set up — if it’s configured hastily or incompletely, the generated content feels just as generic as anything else, and that’s where you lose Jasper’s main edge over something cheaper.

Worth it for marketing teams and agencies already producing content at volume that need brand consistency across several people writing at once. If you just want to generate the occasional standalone piece of text, or you’re a solo user with no brand tone to coordinate with anyone else, a cheaper, generic writing assistant is probably enough without paying Jasper’s premium.

The most honest way to decide is to think about how many different people write brand content on your team today: if the answer is “just one,” the problem Jasper solves (consistency across multiple authors) probably doesn’t apply to your case yet.

Pros

  • Keeps a consistent brand tone across different texts and campaigns, with several configurable 'brand voices'
  • Built for teams, not just individual use: Business adds unlimited seats and governance
  • Integrates well into existing marketing workflows (browser extension, API, MCP)

Cons

  • Noticeably more expensive than generic AI writing alternatives
  • No permanent free plan, only a 7-day trial
