Opus Clip solves a very specific problem: you have an hour-long podcast or stream and need to pull several short clips out of it for social media. Instead of reviewing the entire video looking for the best moments, the AI detects them automatically, trims them, adds animated captions and assigns an estimated virality score.
That score (“Virality Score”) isn’t a guarantee, but it works as a directional guide to prioritize which clips to post first when the AI generated more than there’s time to publish. The quality of the auto-captioning and trimming is among the best in the category, though it’s worth reviewing each clip before publishing — not all of them come out perfectly framed or synced.
The credit system charges based on the minutes of the original video you upload, not how many clips you get out of it, something important to factor in when choosing a plan. It has a free plan with limited minutes per month and paid plans with more minutes, no watermark and higher resolution.
