The benchmark for realistic synthetic voices: narration, dubbing and voice cloning for podcasts, video and audiobooks.
Updated: July 2026
For much of the audio and video industry, ElevenLabs is the de facto standard in synthetic voices. What sets it apart from other text-to-speech tools is how natural the result sounds, with intonation and pauses that don’t feel robotic.
It’s widely used for video narration, dubbing content into other languages, and producing audiobooks or podcasts without needing a human narrator for every recording. It also lets you clone a specific voice (your own, or a brand character’s) to keep consistency across different projects.
As with any voice cloning technology, it carries ethical and consent implications worth considering before using it with someone else’s voice.
